Are we going to still be able to raft the Yampa River in the Future?

The Yampa River is the one of two rivers that Sheri Griffith Expeditions runs that goes completely dry after the snowmelt is gone. This makes the Yampa River one of the most pristine and least rafted stretches of river in the United States. Sadly, though, the ability to raft the Yampa River is in serious danger from a variety of sources including big oil companies needing the water for oil shale extraction and the front range of Colorado needing the water to accommodate its growing population.
